Fun Facts Friday

Since I'll be at Micky's Place for the rest of the week, I thought it was a great time to introduce Fun Facts Friday. I'll be posting some of the more unknown facts about various scientific topics that I hope entertain and enlighten (and gross you out).

Have a great week, and enjoy.

Human Biology: The average human loses 200 head hairs per day. (Maybe that's what happened to Britney Spears).
Chemistry:
Peanuts is one of the ingredients that goes into making dynamite. (Almonds make a great Chinese star).

Mathmatics:
111, 111, 111 X 111, 111, 111 = 12, 345, 678, 987, 654, 321 (Okay, I admit that was really nerdy, but cool!).

General Biology: Nearly 70% of ALL organisms in the world are bacteria. (In my seventh grade science class, a girl named Jennifer was reading outloud and said "orgasm" instead of "organism." Everyone in the class laughed their asses off [even though half of us had no idea what was so funny]. But our teacher did not find that amusing).

I am beating mother nature to the punch--shaving the head takes care of those 200 before they even get the chance.

Have a good trip--try not to get annoyed and punch Goofy.

yeah, call me a math geek...that was cool. And I think I was still playing with Barbie dolls in 7th grade. I doubt I'd know why that was so funny, either. Wait, why is that so funny?! ;)

Have a glorious time in disney. This should be a great time to go...not so crowded, hopefully.

have fun!

Silly me. When I read that you would be at "Micky's Place" I assumed you were writing for someone else's blog. I was surprised when I clicked the link and found the Disney site. Have fun. Wish I could go there, too!

I have to admit I pasted the mathematics one to a bunch of people after I read it.

I remember when people would accidently say the wrong word--we would laugh just because they said the wrong word.
I remember in 6th grade a girl had her first period. I remember the whole class hearing one of the teachers tell another teacher. Most of us were either grossed out, or thought that she went to English class.

Shoot! I only have 199 hairs left.

NO!!!!!!

Maybe it's the bacteria that's attacking my head. You think? You think?

I bet I lose a lot more hair then that.

Oh I get it, it's a palendrome. That is kinda nerdy, but strangely my brain likes it.

I would have had a hard time not laughing with the class in that situation. I have a problem of laughing sometimes when I know I shouldn't.

It is wrong that I still laugh at that seventh-grade mispronunciation and I am in my 30s.

In 8th grade one of the guys was reading out loud and said 'octopis' instead of 'octopus.'

That one still makes me laugh.

That last part reminded me of when our youth speaker (years ago) kept saying "genitals" instead of "Gentiles" during youth group one evening.
He didn't catch it until he'd made the error three times and we were all unable to contain our laughter any longer.
The Lord loves both Jew and genitals alike. :)

I look forward to more FFFs.

I heard a plausible explanation behind Brittany's bad hair day. It stated the KFed was moving for custody of their kids and that she might be forced to give a hair sample for a drug test.
