The Phoenix Podcast, Episode 4: The Avalon Oracle

The Phoenix Podcast explores the world of mysticism and the paranormal in this episode (approximate running time, 27 minutes).

You're heard about psychic readings and tarrot cards...are they real or just a bunch of smoke and mirrors? Is there some truth to what's revealed, or the "psychics" simply scamming you for your money? As a healthy skeptic, I investigate the world of oracle card readings...

I had the pleasure of interviewing Melissa of The Avalon Orcacle. She helps others by using oracle cards, similar to tarrot cards. You can visit her website HERE. She gives us some insight into her work, and she even gives ME a reading!

Melissa's explanations shed some light on her gift, and my reading is absolutely AMAZING. Some very freaky and supernatural stuff happens. And you'll hear it all...on The Phoenix Podcast, Episode 4: The Avalon Oracle

Here are the cards I drew. Do these cards reveal profound and personal issues in my life? Or is the reading composed of broad general statements everyone can relate to? Judge for yourself!

It is fun...but a little bewildering. If you go to that Faeries Oracle link at the bottom of my post, and then go to the Online Reading. I've asked three questions, all related. And I've gotten "The Phoenix" card every single time - as my final card too.

After the first time, I went to Panera Bread with my laptop, and just happened to log on there. So I go to the online reading, but now I'm on Panera Bread's ISP - again, The Phoenix is my final card.

I had two family members try it, and neither of them got that Phoenix card at all.

So I asked a totally unrelated question - no Phoenix card. I asked my original question - BOOM - Phoenix card shows up as my final one.

Weird. Maybe just coincidence though.

Cool podcast! Melissa was warm and friendly, and she didn't come across as a wacko, which is always a good thing.
I enjoyed listening. I wouldn't worry too much about that obstacle card thingy. Obstacles are a part of life. I don't think great things are ever achieved without it.

Wow! That was really interesting! Thanks for sharing that with us! I definately believe there is something to your reading. What? I don't know. But something was there. And the last card does look like your avatar. That was really freaky, but in a good way.

JD, Thanks for listening. Melissa really is very warm and caring, just as she sounds. Earlier, as she was showing me the cards, that scary "Wolverine" card was one she showed me that connotated negative stuff. So when it showed up, I was ticked off.

Mimi, I'm glad you liked the podcast. Isn't that weird how that card showed up? Visually, it looks like a Phoenix, but the meaning is important as well. "Transfiguration" really is from the bible, when Christ transforms from physical existance to spiritual - it's a transfiguration. It symbolized a rebirth, a new start. I can't even begin to tell you how THAT was on the very forefront of my mind with all the shit I've been through lately.

Hey Phoenix!! I finally got to check out your podcast! Cool reading, although I have been known to give far more accurate readings :)

I totally get the whole "She's sitting on his head and he's really supporting her..." As this is a frequent thing with my husband and I (lol). Anyway, I am thinking of "pulling" some cards for you and taking a picture of them and posting it on my blog along with a reading just for you! Hey what the hell, why not?

Also, I always, always, always pay attention to the cards that jump out. Yes, this has happened, numerous of times and it's good to pay attention to them.

I don't proclaim myself a psychic however, I did hold a job at one time at a psychic tea room and read for people. I have surprised myself with certain things that did happen for those I read for. A little of it is told on my blog under "The birth of Psychic Dumb-Dumb".

So you finally got the job at Nasa! Contratulations Phoenix, you most definitely deserve it! There is another unexpected offer - Nasa will offer a trip to the moon!

Love,

PDD

Yeah, Psycho - or should I saw Psychic. Sorry, I get those two words confused, that would be great if you could take a pic of some cards you would pull for me.

To be honest, I thought all this stuff was a bunch of bull. But it has opened my mind. You have to experience it firsthand yourself. I had VERY specific questions in mind when I did this reading.

"The Friends" card jumping out was very freaky. The wind gusted - you can hear it hit on my podcast - and only that one card flew from the deck in my hand.

Very weird indeed.

I have pulled cards for you - 15 this is my standard reading. I have gotten a gist of what it's all about and I was wondering if you would want me to post a reading just for you on my blog? I have already taken the picture and I am working on your reading right now. Would you like me to do this?

4/24/2006 10:12 PM

I am on my blog working on it right now. It could be completely inaccurate, but what the hell, I don't care, I'll just do it. Also, the only thing I have a problem with is second guessing myself when it comes to readings. Logic usually takes over. But when I don't second guess myself and keeping to what first comes to mind I am usually more accurate. What I find tough is it doesn't make the least sense to me. That is why it's so much harder to read for someone you know as opposed to someone you dont. I will give you a try. I appologize in advance if the reading turns out to be a complete and utter mess, meaning, inaccurate. Like I said, I don't proclaim to be a psychic. I began liking the art work of tarot cards and subsequently became interested in readings and how it all works. But it doesn't exactly have a formula to "work". Anyway, this is getting confusing.

4/24/2006 10:32 PM
Blogger The Phoenix said...

Melissa said the same thing. If you know the person, your own ideas and notions get in the way.

I don't know much about tarrot cards either. The artwork is pretty incredible, though.

Give it a shot - it'll be fun.

okay I am still working on it. I just finished explaining the elements of the cards as it sort of helps one understand a bit more of the reading. I am going for a smoke and then begining your reading. I have an interview at 10:00am tomorrow, but I can't sleep at this moment. To be quite honest, I am a little afraid I am going to muck up this reading. Oh and just wanted to let you know I scored another interview today, for thursday.

4/24/2006 10:52 PM
Blogger The Phoenix said...

Don't worry about messing it up. Try not to second-guess yourself.

I hope your interviews go well for you.

I am at the second part of your reading. There are five parts to it, and I want to be as specific as possible. I know that you have been offered a position as told on your podcast and ironically enough it does come up in your reading. And the card is actually CHANGE and it's the 2 of disks which generally relate to money. I swear! but i do have to say that the position you were offered is sort of a step down? or it could even mean something that is not completely related in your field, or in your field but a job that you have never done before. It's a change for the better nonetheless and it does suggest money.

Okay i am getting back to doing your reading.

4/24/2006 11:24 PM
Blogger PDD said...

now i don't know if it's a step down. It's more of something you haven't done before although it's related to your field...

OK, I don't know if you've covered the Mayan calendar before, but (thinking back to the Indigo Children) you might want a heads up- human DNA will be reprogrammed or upgraded from the center of the Milky Way in the year 2012. "Everybody on this planet is mutating. Some are more conscious of it than others. But everyone is doing it." Here, look at this: http://www.adishakti.org/mayan_end_times_prophecy_12-21-2012.htm

I caught up on my PodCast listening last night as I took my stroll.

For an instant I would have sworn Tommy Chong was the Big Foot guy. I finally got a better grip on the voice.

I enjoyed the Avalon Oracle and Avian Flu bits as well. (Just after the stroll I sat in front of the TV. One of the first things I saw was a promo for movie about the Avain Flu tearing through the US. Pretty timely Phoenix.)

That's so cool, Phoenix! Very neat stuff. And congrats on the job offer! I actually do believe the universe will answer personal questions in certain mediums; it's all a matter of asking the right question. (Though I'm not too into the predicting the future stuff; if you know what I mean.) So that's very cool that it spot on identified the issues you're going through.

(As you can see, I'm about a week behind on my blog reading/listening. Sorry I'm late.)
