Episode 2: The Phoenix's Bigfoot Expedition

(452 downloads and counting! Thanks so much for listening. I really appreciate it).

Listen to my adventure, hunting for Bigfoot in the California Redwoods...

There are three ways to listen to my lat
est podcast (running time approx. 10 min):

The Preferred Method:

This is probably the best way to listen to the show. Click the button below to go to my podcast page. There you can hit the green play button to listen to Episode 2. PodOmatic is great - on the sidebar, you'll find my hotline number to leave me a message. You can also leave one via your computer if you have a microphone. I just thought it'd be fun to put your messages in my next podcast.

Click the red button.

Also, for you iTunes people out there, the old feed seems to be taking forever to download. Open up iTunes, go to Podcasts. In the "Advanced" menu, click "subscribe to podcast." When the html window pops up, just copy and paste my RSS feed:

Another way is to just go to Podcasts and search for "The Phoenix." You'll see both of my feeds. Pick the one where it has my name under "Artist." If you click that feed to look at the show information, you'll also see my Phoenix logo. The old feed doesn't have that on it's description.

Make sure to delete the old subscription. I hope this helps, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Our Media:
I also put my show on a great website called Our Media. I've had great luck downloading the show on here. The site is also very cool. It's the place for independent podcasters, videocasters, and musicians to put their work on the web and share their art. Click HERE to go immediately play the podcast.

Having the player down below is very convenient, however Castpost is a very young podcasting hosting site. Many of you said that it wasn't downloading very quickly, or only playing the show in tiny little segments. It's prone to happen during peak usage. You can click the play button below like last time to listen, or go to: to listen.

Powered by Castpost
Call 206-338-2991 to leave me a message, a shout-out, suggestions, whatever you want. I'll put in on my next podcast for the world to hear.

Phoenix, I'm too scared to listen to your podcast. Some of your posts freak me out so bad I can't sleep at night. What genre would this BigFoot expedition episode fall into? Should I wait until daylight to listen?

Cool - I was wondering when I'd get to hear about your expedition!

BTW - I finally got to listen to your first podcast in it's entirety on the plane from Detroit to L.A. :-)

Podcast worked fine Phoenix, although it took about 7-8 minutes to load.

Good stuff.

bittermom,'s not scary at all.

laurie, Great! At least that kills 19 minutes of your flight time.

ben, Why did it take so long? I've had the best luck with using podOmatic - it played instantly. Using the Castpost player right there just seems to take forever during certain parts of the day.

I think the fact it's slow for me is that I run a laptop, which is on wireless broadband and I find that anything that runs at over 300kbps is slow to the extreme.

I'd be interesting to learn which of the three methods any of you are using to listen to the podcast, and how long it took.

So far, Castpost has been pretty hit or miss. Sometimes it's pretty quick, other times it takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r.

A lot has to do with your computer as well.

Thanks for any and all feedback!

I hope at the very least Candii was able to record your message for my podcast. She actually left one for me, but I'd have to charge you to listen to it.

I noticed I have advanced from "Science Fair winners" to "nobel prize winners" I am so very flattered. I was so flattered when you added me to your science fair winners. I forgot to thank you the first time around.

Thank You.
Thank You.

Castpost worked fine with quick download time. I kept getting an error message on the podomatic. Love the bigfoot vocalizations.

I got an error message too a couple times, but was able to play after trying just twice. The error message is something on their part.

Castpost is hit or miss...

I'm learning a lot about podcasting.

I'm not ready for this type of technology. Actually, I'm too stupid to use it.

But what do you think about this?

I gotta buddy shooting up pigs ful of some type of polypeptide protein and increasing their litter quantities. He's gonna score me some of that sweet, sweet shit. Then I'm gonna "prep" my wife, if you know what I mean. I need a litter of about 4-5 to work in the fields and the mines to finance my retirement. With gubment welfare and The Church, I can afford to support such a litter or two. What do you think? Is science on my side in this?

Couldn't listen to castpost but the Media worked fine & fast!

You're quite a story-teller, had me on edge of seat... waiting with bated breath for next episode!

Yawn, You are not stupid. And I think you're quite capable of hitting a "play button."

I'd say the only thing missing from you plan is growth accelorator. Perhaps you have some in stock from after the fall of the Berlin Wall. I believe East Germany was heavy into this, wanting to create a supreme football team and defeat their Western neighbor.

Without the growth accelorator, you'll have to wait until at least 11 or 12 years until they are able to be strong enough to do the mining. You make sure to inject them in utero so that in about two years, you'll have strapping adolescents to do your bidding.

Karen, I'm glad it worked for you better this time. Like I said, with Castpost, it's hit or miss. I've had great luck with Our Media.

I've listened to both and results are in: You've Got A Hit!!! Wow. Funny, innovative, scary, surreal, and worthwhile are just a few words I can use to describe them. I'm putting them on my iPod and allowing my friends to listen as well. You'll have a following much like your blog, with people anticipating the next update.
